Pool Party

Lily had a pool party with her best friends Ellie and Jessica. Aren't they the cutest? They had a great time as you can see:) However, the neighbors dog has since come over and bit a hole in Lily's pool. So, the elephant pool (face on the other side of the picture) has seen it's last days (and if truth be told probably way past due). But that's okay, Lily has a new "bigger and better" pool to take it's place. Of course, there will always be fond memories of the elephant pool.

I love photographing these two together (besides, nobody else will tolerate my photo obsession). Their joy when together just radiates. Here, we visited the city park and played for hours until well into the evening.

First Night Away

Well, Lily will be spending the next couple of nights with her granparents while we travel to Cincinnati for Colton's college orientation. She was so exctited about the trip to Grandma and Pop-Pops and talked about it all day. I am sure it will be much harder on us than it will be for her. Her grandparents will treat her like a princess and have a whole agenda of activities already in store for her. However, I already want to call again (will they remember that she likes to be told a story each night; not from a book, but one that you make up in your head on the spot, or that offering lip gloss or to paint her toenails will always calm her down, etc., etc., etc) Yes, I am sure they will remember the important things. It just feels better to remind them again......... I already miss her, although we are really looking forward to our time with just Colton. Hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday...
