Lily can be shy at times, but once she is in a comfortable and familiar setting, there is no stopping her. She exudes self confidence, although is still quite sensitive to what others have to say. Since Curt is able to be in the class with Lily when he is working with other children, he is able to watch her from a distance. One of my favorite stories that he tells is when Lily went to the front of her class when the teacher was busy with an individual student. Lily cleared her throat and said in a very matter of fact voice, "okay everyone, now raise your hand if you love me." All the girls immediately raised their hands; the boys looked around at each other with a dazed look on their face and finally agreed amongst themselves that they would raise their hands too. Curt finally directed her to sit back down. I guess she was quite pleased with the response and was happy to sit down and re-engage in her school project. Above are pictures I captured of her telling her rendition of the story after school while enjoying a muffin. She thought is was all quite amusing.........
